Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are a way of undertaking a peer reviewed LCA for construction products for which a European standard has been developed; EN 15804: 2012. The process involves the submission of an independent LCA for review by a company offering EPD review. The report will be reviewed and comments returned recommending how the LCA might meet EN 15804: 2012. Once action has been taken around the comments, the report will be reviewed again and if the necessary action has been undertaken the EPD will be awarded. There are multiple organisations offering this service. Giraffe offer LCA in compliance with EN 15804: 2012.
